Draconis: The Call of Adventure - Draconis Edition
WHAT IS A PEACEFUL VERSION OF DND?
We've adapted the 5e system so that it serves the poetic purpose of Draconis, and allows for a style of play centered on the pleasure of discovery, understanding others, and pacifism.
These rules allow for a wide range of situations and game tones, and are sufficiently adaptable to meet the multiple challenges posed by Draconis' benevolence.
The use of violence will have moral and social consequences for the characters. These are emphasized in the book and the scenarios, both by the mechanics and the storytelling.
There are different game modes to choose from (with options that can be combined at the leader's discretion), thanks to a modular system developed in the tradition of Fateforge and Shadows of Esteren. Innocence mode focuses on pure pacifism, combat rules are not used, nor are attack spells. You can, for example, include darker themes, such as melancholy, fear or regret, by selecting the Black heart options.
The result of joint work between Chane and Studio Agate, Call of Adventure is the perfect gateway for those who want to discover role-playing games or introduce their friends and family to the hobby. With its pacifistic premise, this bright fantasy setting is about friendship and the discovery of a world filled with fantastic dragon species!
This book for ages 11+ includes 5 starter adventures and is standalone: all the information required to play is included, along with 6 pregenerated characters and ample guidance for a smooth introduction to role-playing. As for 5E veterans, the rules are compatible with any 5E-powered game such as Fateforge, providing new options: new classes, new archetypes, and variant encounter mechanics tailored to a unique pacifistic playstyle!
