After is a game about telling a shared story in both the past and the present. The main arc of the story is set in the present, with brief expositive forays into the past. Players will each manage two versions of their character. In the present, a relatively complex and powerful character. In the past, a relatively simple yet effective adventurer whose story is just beginning.

Clear as A Bell

This module is compatible with the After rules system and can serve as an introduction to the game and the realm of Extempore, providing a structured and straightforward mission. It can be completed in around 5 sessions.  As with all After campaigns, the main thrust of the story is the Present Act, with expository forays into a Past Act. 

The Past Act flashes back to the days immediately after Rhode Island was pulled into the strange world of Extempore and the immediate existential threats to its inhabitants. 

The Present Act revolves around travel and exploration as the players are charged with taking a journey that starts in one domain and crosses three others in succession before they arrive at their end goal. The party representing the state of Rhode Island, a domain newly arrived in the patchwork plane of Extempore, is travelling to a city called Sylvia; a hub of commerce, and the goal of the party is to establish a trade agreement to aid the Ocean Staters in this strange new world they find themselves in.

Dreams of Sylvia

This is a module for the After rules system, and can be completed in around 5 sessions.  As with all After campaigns, the main thrust of the story is the Present Act, with expository forays into a Past Act. This module is a loose sequel to the Clear as a Bell Module.
Some settlements across Extempore consider themselves to be above one another in the grand pecking order, but others have a more literal viewpoint on this. The city of Sylvia was founded on a small spheroid rocky asteroid (also called Sylvia) that was pulled from its home like so many domains, but in this case rather than slamming into the primary continent of Extempore, it came to rest lazily drifting above in the sky. While the rest of the patchwork plane is constantly beset by tumultuous seismic activity, Sylvia, on the other hand, floats above it all, making it a unique environment that was quickly seized upon by the inhabitants below, with settlements cropping up on its surface almost as soon as it appeared.

The Past Act flashes back to the party touching down on the city of Sylvia, and establishing themselves on the asteroid to secure trade for their homeport, the state of Rhode Island, a relatively new domain in Extempore.
 
The Present Act revolves around the terse social and political dance between the three main factions on Sylvia.
